Waiting to Inhale.

At what point does enough really become enough? Just when I think that I have whatever was going on between my ears figured out. Life comes along and throws another curveball. My workouts this week have been less than whole hearted. Feeble attempts to hold onto a life I used to breeze trough without a second thought. Earlier this week at work we were bringing online one of our units. I was helping out down on the second floor trying to get a motor operated valve that was stuck shut unstuck. Another operator and myself were on the end of some rather large spanner wrenches working the valve over midevil stlye when the S.O.B. broke loose. As a result the valve was fixed but at the same time I managed to tear a muscle in my left pectoralis. All week I have felt like a small child has been sitting on my chest. I have been dilligent in keeping up with my mileage however I have not been able to enjoy it due to the pain from inhaling and exhaling. Total mileage for week. Running: 56 miles. Cycling: 75 miles.

Hopefully I'll start to recover from this setback by the beginning of next week. Next week will be pretty busy. Not so much running but a lot of getting ready for our race next Saturday out at Lake Perry. Its the second race of our four race trail series sponsored by Montrail, Red Bull, Suunto, and various other sponsers. Currently I'm in fouth place on points after the first race, Unfortunately thats as far as I'm going to get in the series. I'm going to sit this one out and instead spend my time marking the course and Captaining one of the aide stations. Hopefully sitting out this next race and seeing all the other competitors come through my aide station will respark my desire to once again throw my hat into the ring.

At home things could not be any better. I'm enjoying all the time I've been spending with my son. I think he is enjoying it aswell. Today we spent all morning restoring an old three wheel off road tricycle that someone gave us back to like new condition. Last night I took him to Lowes and he picked out bright yellow paint for the new color. At first I thought no that wouldn't be cool but I couldn't break his heart by picking another color so yellow it was. It actually turned out pretty cool. Who knows maybe my kid will become the next Jesse James. How Rock n Roll is that? Aside from customizing trikes we also got to play around in the garden and do some much needed landscape maintnence. All in all it was a good day. Good luck to all my peeps heading up to the Fans 24hr and Kettle 100. Run safe and have a safe trip back.
